RESOLUTION NO, 4814 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EUGENE-SPRiNGFIELD <br /> METRO AREA MULTI-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN, <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br /> <br /> A. The adoption of a multi-hazard mitigation plan is required as a condition <br />for communities to remain eligible for future Federal Emergency Management <br />Agency (FEMA) mitigation grant funds. <br /> <br /> B. The Cities of Eugene and Springfield have jointly prepared the Eugene- <br />Springfield Metro Area Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan in order to meet FEMA's <br />funding requirement, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A and incorporated <br />herein by reference. <br /> <br /> C. The City Council has reviewed and considered the Eugene-Springfield <br />Metro Area Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br /> <br /> D. The mitigation strategies and action items identified in the plan will be <br />implemented only when funding sources have been identified and projects have <br />been prioritized as outlined in the plan. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE, <br />a Municipal Corporation of the State of Oregon, as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Based on the above findings, which are hereby adopted, the <br />Eugene-Springfield Metro Area Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan attached as Exhibit <br />A is approved as the official Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan for the City of Eugene. <br /> <br /> Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> The foregoing Resolution adopted the 8th day of November, 2004. <br /> <br /> City Recorder <br /> <br />Resolution <br /> <br /> <br />
