The largest categories of benefits are avoided building damages and avoided <br />casualties. Avoided contents damages, avoided displacement costs, and <br />avoided loss of public services are also significant benefits for this project. <br /> <br />The result that the project is just cost-effective, arises because of the relatively <br />modest seismic hazard level for Eugene and the relatively modest occupancy of <br />the building on a 24/7/365 basis.
