Come to a free talk on “Cyber Security” on Tuesday, Aug. 11, <br />at 6 p.m., at the Bethel Branch of the Eugene Public Library, or on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m., at the Sheldon Branch. <br /> <br />Expert Pam Simon of Fidgets2Widgets will share crucial information about <br />passwords, privacy, and protection from cyber-crimes, including scams. No <br />device is required, but participants are encouraged to bring a tablet, phone, or <br />other mobile device. <br /> <br />The Bethel Branch of the Eugene Public Library is located at 1990 Echo Hollow <br />Road. The Sheldon Branch is located at 1566 Coburg Road. For more information, <br />contact the Eugene Public Library at 541-682-5450 or www.eugene- <br />or.gov/library. <br /> <br />Mayor’s Bold Steps Award Application Process Open <br />Eugene-based businesses certified by BRING's RE:think Business program can now apply for <br />the Mayor's annual Bold Steps Award. The Bold Steps Award recognizes businesses that <br />embody a triple-bottom-line approach to sustainability, balancing the needs of people and the <br />planet with prosperity. Applications are due Tuesday, Sept. 15, and can be accessed at <br />www.eugene-or.gov/boldsteps. <br /> <br />ThermoFisher Scientific was awarded the 2015 Bold Steps Award by Mayor Kitty Piercy at <br />Eugene’s State of the City event on Jan. 7, 2015. The other finalists for the award were Café <br />Yumm! and Essex General Construction.
