While there are not specifically established goals for these intervals, they are shown here as a measure of the timely completion of tasks associated with these calls, as well as the time it takes these units to return to available status. These are the same areas used to measure response coverage for other types of emergency response and which were used prior to the adoption of the response zone system by Lane County in 2004. At that time, there was also a third risk area referred to as "ambulance service only," since it included all the territory in ASA #4 that was not also included in the Eugene Fire & EMS fire protection area. The only service EFD provides there is ambulance transport; EMS first response and fire protection are provided by other jurisdictions. These risk areas are no longer in use for the analysis of ambulance service; we now use Zones 1, 2, and 3. They are shown here to provide historical perspective. 6O
