Ideas being considered
through MovingAhead include potential changes to both EmX
and regular buses, and improvements to sidewalks and
bikeways that could make it easier to get around the
community.

At the open house people can review the alternatives for
changes to the corridors along Highway 99, River Road,
Coburg Road, 30 Avenue to Lane Community College, and
th
Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

The MovingAhead Alternatives Review Open House will be held Monday, Mar. 7, from 5 – 7 p.m., at the Eugene Public
Library, 100 West 10 Avenue. Accessibility arrangements, interpreter, and translation services can be made for all
th
MovingAhead events with 48 hours’ notice. For more information, call 541-682-6100 (voice) or 7-1-1 (TTY).

For those who can’t attend the open house, go to www.movingahead.org to review project materials and provide input.
The online review will be accepted from Mar. 4 - 18.

After confirming the range of alternatives, the MovingAhead team will conduct a more detailed study of the costs,
benefits, and impacts of each alternative. Additional input will be collected from the community before a preferred
alternative is selected for each corridor in fall 2016.

For more information, please contact Zach Galloway at 541-682-5485 or zach.a.galloway@ci.eugene.or.us, Chris Henry
at 541-682-8472 or Chris.C.Henry@ci.eugene.or.us, or Sasha Luftig at 541-682-6135 or sasha.luftig@ltd.org.

Primary Election Update
The following candidates have completed the filing process for Eugene elected positions and will be included on the
May 17, 2016, primary election ballot:

Mayor: Bob Cassidy, Mike Clark, Scott Landfield, Stefan Strek, Lucy Vinis
City Council Ward 1: Chad Anderson, Kelly Boyd, Emily Semple, Joshua Skov, Chris Wig
City Council Ward 2: Betty Taylor
City Council Ward 7: Claire Syrett
City Council Ward 8: Chris Pryor

EWEB Wards 1 & 8: Steve Mital
EWEB Wards 2 & 3: Dick Helgeson
EWEB Wards 6 & 7: Sonya Carlson, Gary Malone

EUGENE CITY COUNCIL NEWSLETTER PAGE 1
March 3, 2016
