Streetscape Features <br />Design Guidelines <br />1) Transitions occur in areas where land use <br />type, right-of-way width, or street type change. <br />Transitional areas provide opportunities for <br />gateways or other design treatments that mark or <br />signify change. <br />2) Street transition treatments should be located <br />at intersections or at the boundaries of signifi- <br />cant changes in land use. <br />3) Use transitional treatments to improve unat- <br />tractive "leftover" areas, and to provide identity <br />and continuity to street design. <br />4) Use curb extensions as a landscaped transi- <br />tion from wider streets to narrower streets.
