The Lane <br />Workforce Partnership requests appointment of Mandy Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Oregon <br />Community Credit Union. <br /> <br />Enclosed is a letter from the E.ugene Area Chamber of Commerce nominating Ms" Jones to the Lane <br />Workforce Partnership board of directors. <br /> <br />The Workforce Investment Act of 1998 requires that local workforce investment boards, i.e., the Lane <br />Workforce Partnership board of directors, be comprised of a majority from business. Business <br />representation must be owners of businesses, chief executives, or operating officers of business or <br />employers with optimum policymaking or hiring authority; represent businesses with employment <br />opportunities that reflect the employment opportunities of the local area and; are appointed from among <br />individuals nominated by local business organizations, i.e., the Eugene Chamber, and business trade <br />associations. <br /> <br />We are requesting the Eugene City Council appoint Ms. Jones to serve on the Lane Workforce <br />Partnership board of directors from August 2007 through December 31, 2010. <br /> <br />If you have any questions concerning the nomination process, please call me at 682-7228 or email <br />lonnie.bivins@co.lane.or.us. <br /> <br />Sl,'nc;;elY, A-/, '" <br /> <br />J5t,/:, ~"". .. <br />", .
