The City Council must also take <br />action to formally approve the candidate profile and that action is set for this meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />In previous work sessions, the City Council has met with the executive recruiter to refine and revise the <br />candidate profile for the position of City Manager. This will be the final opportunity to hear comments <br />and review the document prior to posting the position. After the recruitment period is closed, the <br />executive recruiter will again meet with the City Council to review the results of the national search in <br />December. Interviews for candidates have been tentatively set for the second week in January 2008. <br /> <br /> <br />RELATED CITY POLICIES <br />This item is not directly related to a City policy. However, the hiring of a city manager is related to the <br />City Council value of an “Effective, Accountable Municipal Government.” <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL OPTIONS <br />The council may approve this document as presented, make revisions or develop new information. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The City Manager has no recommendation on this matter. <br /> <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION <br /> <br />Move to approve the candidate profile for the position of City Manager. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br /> <br />A.Final draft of the candidate profile for the City Manager. <br /> <br />B.Updated timeline for the City Manager Search Process <br />L:\CMO\2007 Council Agendas\M071008\S0710083.doc <br /> <br />
