<br />M I N U T E S <br /> <br /> <br />Eugene City Council <br />Boards and Commissions Interviews <br />Council Chamber—Eugene City Hall <br /> <br /> October 3, 2007 <br /> 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Andrea Ortiz, Chris Pryor, Betty Taylor, Jennifer Solomon, Mike Clark, <br />Alan Zelenka. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS ABSENT: Bonny Bettman, George Poling. <br /> <br />A. BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS INTERVIEWS <br /> <br />The council interviewed applicants for positions on the City’s Sustainability Commission. Those inter- <br />viewed were William Klausmeier, Katherine Moyer, Tim Laue, Greg Youngquist, Will Shaver, Lynn <br />Rodrick, Fred Lea, Joseph Varner, Clayton Gauiter, Lorraine Kerword, Dawn Lesley, and Bob Cassidy. <br />Each applicant was asked the following questions: <br /> <br />1. What prompted you to apply for the Sustainability Commission? Based on what you know <br />about the role of the commission, what do you consider are the most important skills you <br />bring to help the commission be successful? <br /> <br />2. Please tell us about any experience you have had working collectively with a group. <br /> <br />3. What do you consider are the most important issues to address in Eugene to enable the com- <br />munity to become sustainable? <br /> <br />4. How can the Sustainability Commission be most effective in its role as a policy advisory body <br />to the City Council? <br /> <br />5. Please share your views on how the Sustainability Commission can foster involvement of the <br />whole community in long-range changes to become more sustainable. <br /> <br />Mr. Pryor thanked each candidate and indicated the council would be making a decision on the candidates to <br />be selected on October 22, 2007.
