<br />M I N U T E S <br /> <br /> <br />Eugene City Council <br />Interviews for Boards and Commissions <br />Council Chamber—Eugene City Hall <br /> <br /> October 2, 2007 <br /> 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Jennifer Solomon, Chris Pryor, Andrea Ortiz, Betty Taylor, Bonny <br />Bettman, Mike Clark, Alan Zelenka <br /> <br />COUNCILORS ABSENT: George Poling <br /> <br />Council President Andrea Ortiz called the meeting of the Eugene City Council to order. <br /> <br />A. INTERVIEWS FOR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br />The council interviewed Jon Belcher, Lisa Arkin, Rachel Burr, Patrick Driscoll, Therese Brand, Howard <br />Bonnett, Josh Bruce, Doug Heiken, Shawn Boles (via telephone), Dave Funk, Brian Erickson, and Kip <br />Much for positions on the Sustainability Commission. <br /> <br />Ms. Ortiz greeted each candidate and explained the interview process. At the conclusion of each interview, <br />she informed the candidate that the council would make its appointments at the October 22, 2007, council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />All candidates for the Sustainability Commission positions were asked the following questions: <br /> <br />1. What prompted you to apply for the Sustainability Commission? Based on what you know about <br />the role of the Commission what do you consider are the most important skills you bring to help <br />the commission be successful? <br />2. Please tell us about any experience you have had working collectively with a group. <br />3. What do you consider are the most important issues to address in Eugene to enable the commu- <br />nity to become sustainable? <br />4. How can the Sustainability Commission be most effective in its role as a policy advisory body to <br />the City Council? <br />5.
