<br /> <br />The terms on these boards, committees and commission began on November 1, 2007; however <br />the Eugene Code allows members to serve beyond the expiration date of his/her term until a <br />replacement is appointed. <br /> <br /> <br />RELATED CITY POLICIES <br />The boards, committees and commissions serve as advisory bodies to the City Council in the <br />development of various city policies. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL OPTIONS <br /> <br />The City Council may <br />1. Appoint applicants who have been nominated; <br />2. Appoint other applicants from the pool, or <br />3. Seek additional candidates for these positions. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The City Manager has no recommendation on this item; the appointments are made by the council. <br /> <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTIONS <br />Budget Committee <br />There are two vacancies on the Budget Committee. Five applications were received, including <br />the two current members who wished to be considered for reappointment. From this pool, the <br />council chose to reappoint one incumbent in the initial round. None were selected to be <br />interviewed; rather votes were cast to appoint other candidates and of these none received enough <br />to have his/her name placed in nomination. <br /> <br />Move to reappoint Terrance McDonald to Position 2 on the Budget Committee for a three-year <br />term beginning November 1, 2007, and ending on October 31, 2010. <br /> <br />Move to appoint _______________ to Position 7 on the Budget Committee for a three-year term <br />beginning November 1, 2007, and ending on October 31, 2010. <br /> <br />Planning Commission <br />There is one vacancy on the Planning Commission. Four applications were received, including <br />one person who withdrew on November 16. From the pool of remaining applicants, the council <br />chose to interview two candidates and neither had enough votes to have his/her name placed in <br />nomination. <br /> <br />Move to appoint _______________ to Position 1 on the Planning Commission for a four-year <br />term beginning November 1, 2007, and ending on October 31, 2011. <br /> <br />Whilamut Natural Area Citizen Planning Committee <br />Due to a resignations after the annual recruitment period had ended, there are two vacancies for <br />Eugene residents on the committee.
