Failure to comply with this requirement will <br />result in rejection of those sheets and disqualification <br />_e sianature . . <br /> <br />.r=:ing <br />Any proposed variation to an approved signature sheet <br />must be resubmitted and approved in writinf/ by the <br />city elections official before circulating. Failure to do <br />_ result in the rejection of those signature sheets. <br /> <br /> <br />Petition Signer Requirements <br />(ORS 249.072) <br /> <br />Electors' signatures on candidate nominating <br />petitions must be verified by the appropriate county <br />elections official before filing the candidate's <br />completed petition with the city elections official. <br />Signers must meet all of the following <br />requirements: <br /> <br />~ signers on anyone signature sheet must be active <br />registered voters in the same county <br /> <br />-+ each signer must be an active registered voter of <br />the candidate's electoral district at the time of signing <br />the petition <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />~ each signer must provide a signature and <br />residence or mailing address <br /> <br />Circulator Requirements <br />(ORS 249.061) <br /> <br />The circulator of the candidate nominating petition <br />must sign the circulator's certification, stating that: <br /> <br />~II hereby certify that I witnessed the signing of the <br />signature sheet by each individual whose signature <br />appears on the signature sheet, and I believe each <br />individual is an elector qualified to sign the petition. I <br />also certify that compensation I received, if any, was <br />not based on the number of signatures obtained for <br />this petition." <br /> <br />Circulators must not alter, correct, clarify or obscure <br />on the signature sheet any information about the <br />petition signer unless the signer initials the changes <br />made. Only a signer may complete the information <br />about themselves, such as their printed name, address <br />and date signed.
