AWARDS AND RECOGNITION <br /> <br />? <br />Community Service Awards <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy acknowledged the contribution of co-chairs Greg McLauchlan and Harriett Cherry of the West <br />Broadway Advisory Committee and spoke of the work done by the committee. She thanked Mr. McLauchlan <br />and Ms. Cherry and presented them with the Community Service Award. She also thanked committee <br />members present and asked them to stand to be recognized. <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy acknowledged the contribution of co-chair Tina Rinaldi of the Cultural Policy Review <br />Committee and spoke of the work of the committee. She thanked Ms. Rinaldi and presented her with the <br />Community Service Award. She also noted the leadership of co-chair David Kelly, who was not present. <br />Mayor Piercy asked other committee members to stand to be recognized. She also noted the contribution of <br />Wolf Brown consultants in creating the committee’s final report and recommendations. <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy acknowledged the contribution of Marilyn Milne and Sara Mazze of the Mayor’s Climate <br />Challenge Committee and presented them with the Community Service Award. Mayor Piercy also acknowledged the contributions of <br />the University of Oregon’s Climate Leadership Initiative, led by Bob Doppelt. She also asked Dave Funk, <br />Mary Van Noy, and Kelly Hale to stand to be recognized as part of the climate challenge. <br /> <br />? <br />Employee Recognition Award <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy recognized Michelle Mortenson, Public Service Specialist, and Isaac Markehe, Neighborhood <br />Program Manager, for their contributions to the City in 2007. <br /> <br />? <br />Mayor’s Sustainability Award <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy presented the Mayor’s Sustainability Award to Mark Raney of Cumulus Broadcasting, noting <br />the company’s contribution to the Sustainable Business Initiative, which resulted in free public service <br />announcements about sustainability practices being broadcast on Cumulus stations. She thanked Michael <br />O’Shea of Cumulus and community members Dave Funk, Sheriza Gerry, Jennifer Bell, Roger Ebbage, Sara <br />Mazze, and for their contributions to the effort. <br /> <br /> <br />V.
