<br />M I N U T E S <br /> <br /> <br />Eugene City Council <br />Work Session <br />McNutt Room – City Hall <br />777 Pearl Street—Eugene, Oregon <br /> <br /> February 2, 2008 <br /> 8:10 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Andrea Ortiz, Chris Pryor, Betty Taylor, Bonny Bettman, Jennifer <br />Solomon, George Poling, Mike Clark, Alan Zelenka. <br /> <br /> <br />Her Honor Mayor Kitty Piercy called the meeting of the Eugene City Council to order. <br /> <br /> <br />1. WORK SESSION: <br /> Selection of City Manager Candidate <br /> <br />Mr. Pryor, seconded by Ms. Bettman, moved that the council forward an offer to Jon Ruiz <br />contingent upon a successful salary negotiation and a successful reference and background <br />check. <br /> <br />Ms. Ortiz indicated that she would vote in the affirmative but that was not a guarantee she would vote for <br />him when the council reached the point of hiring Mr. Ruiz. <br /> <br />Mr. Zelenka said if the motion passed, it was a “done deal.” <br /> <br /> The motion passed, 5:3; Ms. Taylor, Ms. Bettman, and Ms. Ortiz voting no. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:12 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Angel Jones <br />City Manager pro tem <br /> <br />(Recorded by Kimberly Young) <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES—Eugene City Council February 2, 2008 Page 1 <br /> Work Session <br />
