<br />which were added during a work session on the topic of neighborhood infill and a proposal for a private <br />th <br /> <br />development at 19 and Alder Streets. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission held public meetings earlier this spring to review and discuss the white <br />papers, receive public comment, and determine which minor land use code amendments, and in what <br />form, to move forward to the formal amendment process. As a result of these two public meetings, 18 <br />proposed amendments were selected to move forward to the formal code amendment process. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission is currently in the process of reviewing the proposed ordinance. A public <br />hearing was held on May 21, 2008 and the Planning Commission is scheduled to make their <br />recommendation to the council on June 2, 2008. <br /> <br /> A summary of the 18 proposed amendments identifying the topic, the affected code sections, and the <br />purpose or intended effect of the amendment, is attached to familiarize the council with the proposals. <br />In addition, a draft ordinance is attached which provides the specific revised code language for each <br />amendment in legislative format. All material received through the close of the Planning Commission <br />record will be provided in the council’s agenda packet for the public hearing on June 16, 2008. <br /> <br />The amendments under consideration in the proposed ordinance are listed topically below: <br /> <br />Development Standards <br />1. Multi-Family Development/Open Space Credit for Nearby Parks <br /> <br />7.Required Parking for Multi-Family Developments in West University and South University <br />Neighborhood Associations <br /> <br />8.Stormwater Destination: Encourage On-Site Infiltration as a Preferred Approach and Restrict <br />Fill and Disturbance of Drainage Ways <br />Lot Configuration <br />9. Flag Lots Definition and Development Standards <br />10. Lot Width/Lot Frontage Standards in Residential Zones <br />11. Add Definition of Alley Access Only Lot/Parcel and Clarify Existing Prohibition <br />12. Exclude Area within Private Streets from Residential Lot Areas <br />13.
