Southern Willamette Research Corridor <br /> <br />The City of Eugene is a member of the Southern Willamette Research Corridor (SWRC) <br />whose major focus is linking the educational assets of the region with the training and <br />research needs of the private sector. The mission of the SWRC Consortium is: <br /> <br /> To stimulate and support continuing economic development and diversification in the <br /> southern Willamette Valley. <br /> To increase its recognition as a major research and technology center by coordinating <br /> and promoting cooperative activities of educational institutions; industry; and local, <br /> state, and federal government. <br /> <br />S WRC's primary objectives are: <br /> <br /> Strengthening the relationship between higher education institutions, private sector <br /> businesses and government <br /> Facilitating the technology transfer process <br /> Educating the public on the importance of the Research Corridor <br /> Advocating for legislative priorities <br /> <br /> <br />
