a. The development of a complete inventory of parks and recreation facilities, the <br /> development of local standards for use by the local goveming bodies in <br /> determining the type and level of parks and facilities that are needed, the <br /> development of demand effectiveness measurements, and the development of <br /> capital improvements programming and other implementation strategies. <br /> <br /> b. Indication of how much land is needed for each type of park (regional, <br /> community, neighborhood, etc.), and indication of what types of activities should <br /> be provided in each park (e.g., active recreational opportunities such as ball fields, <br /> tennis courts, and playgrounds vs. passive recreational opportunities such as <br /> hiking trails). <br /> <br /> c. Indication of how the resources of the local and state park agencies can be <br /> coordinated and maximized in order for each agency to provide the level and type <br /> of recreational opportunities for which it is best suited. <br /> <br /> d. Indication of where the advance purchase of park land should occur in <br /> anticipation of future demand. <br /> <br />65_. Private recreational facilities supplement and help meet the demand for a variety of <br /> recreational opportunities. <br /> <br />6. The Lane County Board of Commissioners adopted the Howard Buford Recreation Area <br /> Master Plan as a refinement to the Metro Plan on Jtme 15, 1994 (Ordinance No. PA <br /> 1056).. <br /> <br />Provide a varicty of parks m~d recreation facilities to se~we the divcrse needs of the community's <br />citizens. <br /> <br />Objectives <br /> <br />1. Coordinate regional-metropolitan parks planning and development among local and state <br /> agencies. <br /> <br />2. Ensure that regional-metropolitan parks planning provides a balanced variety of park and <br /> recreational oppommities. <br /> <br />3. Develop local standards, measures, and implementation techniques to determine the level <br /> and types of local park and recreation facilities necessary to serve the needs of the <br /> residents of each jurisdiction. <br /> <br />4. Develop park sites and recreation facilities in the manner best suited to serve the diverse <br /> interests of local residents and in areas of greatest need. <br /> <br /> III-H-4 <br /> <br /> <br />
