I <br />~. ~ 4 <br />- - <br />- - <br />ORDINANCE 8694 <br />An Ordinance amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 8413 entitled: <br />AN ORDINANCE To create or divide the City into Districts <br />within some of which it shall be lawful, and within others <br />of which it shall be unlawful to erect, construct, alter <br />or maintain certain buildings, or to carry on certain <br />trades or callings, or within which the height and bulk <br />of future buildings shall be limited, and providing for <br />setback lines, and providing for a penalty for the <br />~aiola tion thereof . <br />passed by the Common Council April 8, 1935 and approved by the Mayor, April 9, <br />1935, by dividing "R-2 MULTIPLE FAIdILY RESIDENCE DISTRICTS!' into "Apartment House <br />Districts" and"Four Family Multiple Residence Districts." <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. That Section 3 of Orditianee No. 8413 entitled: <br />AN ORDIN6IVCE To create or divide the City into Districts <br />within some of which it shall be lawful, and within others <br />of which it shall be unlawful to erect, construct, alter <br />or maintain cert8:in buildings, or to carry on certain <br />trades or callings, or within which the height and bulk <br />of future buildings shall be limited, and providing for <br />setback lines, and .providing for a penalty for the <br />violation thereof. <br />passed by the Common Council April 8, 1935 and approved by the Mayor, April 9, <br />1935, be and the same is hereby amended and subdivided into Section 3a and Section <br />3b as follows: <br />Section 3a. MULTIPLE FATa7ILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT. <br />In a multiple family residence district no building <br />or premises shall be used and no buildings shall be <br />erected which is arranged, intended or designed to be <br />used for any purpose excepting a family residence use <br />up to four occupancies with its usual accessories <br />arranged, intended and designed for residence purposes. <br />Section 3b. APARTIv1ENT HOUSE DISTRICT: <br />In an apartment house district no building or premises <br />shall be used and no buildings shall be erected which is <br />arranged, intended or designed to be used for any pur- <br />l pose excepting a family residence use up to four occupancies <br />with its usual accessories arranged, intended or designed <br />for residence purposes, and in addition thereto, hospitals, <br />educational or philanthropic institutions, fraternities, <br />tenements, falts, boarding houses. lodging houses, clubs, <br />apartment houses and hotels without stores, assembly <br />halls, churchs, public or private schools, mortuaries, <br />sanitarium, private hospitals, or other instiutions for <br />the treatment of disease. <br />Passed by the Common Council <br />this 8th day of September, 1941 <br />/s/ JOHN FIELDS <br />City Recorder pro-tem <br />Approved by the Mayor this <br />9th day of September, 1941 <br />/s/ ~LISHA LARGE <br />Mayor <br />
