The whole cost of the construction of said <br />sewer shall be borne by and shall be assessed to the lots, parts of <br />lots and acreage property liable therefor, and benefited by the <br />construction thereof in proportion to tsie benefits accruing to each <br />lot, part of lot, or acreage property as shall be ascez~tained and <br />deterruined by the Council. <br />Section 6. Upon the corr~~,letion of the sewer, the Common Coun- <br />cil shall ascertain the cost thereof arld assess that portion thereof <br />against the lots, parts of lets or acz°eage property liable therefor <br />or benefited thereby in accordance with the provisions of the Charter <br />of the City of Eugene, and when said costs are so assessed the <br />same shall be entered in the City Lien Docket, and be further en- <br />forced as provided by the City Charter. <br />Section 7. ~JHEREAS, the improvement contemplated and pro- <br />vided for by this ordinance, is a necessary improvement and the <br />district of the city in vahich said sewer is to be constructed is <br />in such a condition that the constr•uetion of said sewer is essen- <br />tial to the health and safety of the residents of said district, <br />it is therefore declared that an emergency exists and it is neces- <br />sary for the imr~edi~te preservation of the public peace, health <br />and safety, that this ordinance take effect immediately upon its <br />passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />Passed by the Common Council this <br />11th day of May, 1942. <br />/s/ JOHN FIELDS <br />Recorder Pro Tem <br />Approved by the TJlayor this <br />19th day of May, 1942 <br />/s/ E~.i~HA LARGE <br />Iv~ayo r <br />
