<br />2~2 <br />Section 2. 'That said levy, constituting the General Fund levy in the sum <br />of X108,000.00 .and the levy for special purposes outside of the six per cent <br />limitation,, in the sum of w135,427.13 and aggregating a total tax levy of <br />x:243,427.13 be made against all taxable property within the City of Eugene, for <br />the purpose of driving the funds necessar;~ to carry on the dif.fer•ent de~,artments, <br />and to meet the expenses of the City Government of said City for the fiscal year <br />beginning July 1, 1943 and ending June 30, 1944 and to create and provide sinking <br />funds and interest funds for the various outstanding bonds and obligations of <br />the City. That the Recorder of said City is hereby directed tc certify the said <br />levies as herein made and set forth, to the County Officers of Lalie Country, <br />Oregon, as provided by law. <br />Section 3. That the annual levy of taxes for the City of Eugene, for the <br />fiscal year beginning July 1, 1943 and ending June 30, 1944 is required by law to <br />be made by the Common Council of said City and certified to the County Officers <br />of Lane County, Oregon, before the time of completing the tax rolls, so that the <br />same may be extended and the taxes thereon collected at the same time that other <br />taxes ar•e collected, and that said levy must be made and completed and in the <br />hands of said County Officers before July 15, 1943, and it is necessary to the <br />peace, health and safety of the City of Eugene, that the said levy be made and <br />certified to the said County Officials and that the slime be placed in the hands <br />of the County Assessor without delay, and therefore an emergency is hereby de- <br />clared to exist, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from <br />and after its passage by the Common Council of the City of Eugene, and its <br />approval by the T~?ayor of said City. <br />PAUSED BY THE COT.~~ON COUNCIL <br />this 6th day of July, 1943. <br />/s/ John Fields <br />Recorder Pro Tem <br />APPRO TED EY THE ~aSAYOR THIS <br />7th day of July, 1943. <br />/s/ Elisha Large <br />I~Tayor <br />
