I 2s4 ORDINANCE N0. 8785 An Ordinance granting to HOTEL EUGENE, In?C., a corporation, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Oregoh, its successors and assigns, a franchise over the intersection of East Broadway and Pearl Street in the City of Eugene. THE CITY OF EUGET~'E DOES ORDAIN- AS FOLLOV~TS: Section 1. That there be and is hereby granted unto HOTEL EUGEP~IE, INC., a corporation organized and existing under the lames of the State of Oregon, its successors or assigns, the right and privilege for and during the term of ten years from and after the taking effect of this ordinance, to construct, main- tain, operate, reconstr=uct grid repair a sign bearing the legend EUGEIV'E HOTEL, traversing the intersection of East Broadway Street and Pearl Street in the City of Eugene, together with the right to erect and maintain any and all supports and structures necessary to sustain the sign according to good pract- ise. Section 2. It is a condition of the granting of this franchise that the sign and the structures sustaining the same shall at all time be maintained in such a condition as to provide amplte clearance for traffic and an ample margin for safety for• its support and it shall be decorated and illuminated as to con- stitute an attractive ornament to the street. Section 3. 2'he erection and maintenance of the sign and the supporting structures shall be under the direction and supervision of the City Engineer and the Hotel Eugene, Inc., shall at all times conform to the requirements exacted by the City Engineer of the City of Eugene.. Section 4. Should said street or intersection be altered or changed in any manner affecting the support and maintenance of the sign, the HOTEL ETJGEI~"E Il`~C., agrees to im:~ediately reconstruct or readjust the sign and its sustaining structures so as to conform to such change, under the direction of the City Engineer. Section 5. Nothing in triis ordinance shall be so construed in amy way ,, so as to prevent the authorities ~f the City of Eugene from sewering, grading, paving, or repairing, widening or altering eny of the streets or• intersections herein affected. Section 6. The HOTEL EUGET~TE INC., shall file its written acceptance of this franchise v~ith the P~ecorder within 30 days after its passage and approval by the Tviayor. Section 7.
