I <br />2~s <br />ORDINANCE N0. 8792 <br />' An Ordinance authorizing the making of a dump tender's contract. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DORES ORDAIN AS FOLL04"oS: <br />': Section 1. The Mayor and City Recorder of the City of Eugene be and <br />' they are hereby authorized and directed to execute and edliver, on behalf of <br />the City of Eugene, that certain garbage contract with R. R. Hughes, a copy <br />of which is hereto attached and made a part of this ordinance. <br />Passed by the Common Council Approved by the Mayor this <br />i this 26th day of June 1944. 28th day of June 1944. <br />' /s/ John Fields /s/ Elisha Large <br />Recorder pro tem Mayor <br />THIS CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT, Made and entered into this 1st day of <br />~ July A.D. 1944, by and between the City of Eugene, a municpal corporation, <br />part of the first part, and R. R. Hughes, party of the second part;- <br />' 4~'ITZ~TESSETH - <br />' That, whereas, the City of Eugene maintains a garbage dump on the <br />property owned by the City South of the City limits and the second party has <br />heretofore been in charge of the same under a former contract, and the Citys <br />fiscal year commences on.July 1, 1944. <br />~ Therefore, it is agreed between the parties hereto that the second <br />party shall care for the city's garbage dump in a sanitary and workmanlike <br />manner, complying with all laws and ordinance applicable thereto for a term <br />of one year, commencing July 1, 1944 and terminating June 30, 1945, and shall <br />receive therefore from the City of Eugene X128.75 on the first day of August <br />1944, and X127.85 on the first day of each succeeding month throughout the <br />term of this contract. <br />It is further agreed that the City has amended its garbage ordinance <br />providing that garbage haulers desireing to retain edible portions of the <br />garbage for feeding purposes may be so upon payment of X25.00 per quarter, <br />and there being three garbage haulers,~he city hereby agrees to pay over <br />each additional license to the second party not to exceed altogether a total <br />compensation of ~153.75.per month. <br />The Second party agrees to keep said garbage dump open and acessi~le <br />from eight o'clock in the morning until six o'clock in the afternoon of every <br />day except Sunday, and that on Sundays the garbage dump shallbe closed. <br />IN ~jITNESS WHEREOF, The City of Eugene has cuased these presents to <br />i be executed by its Mayor and Recorder pursuant to an ordinance of the Common <br />Council of said City and the second party has hereunto subscribed his name <br />this 1st day of July A.D., 1944. <br />" CITY OF EUGENE, a municipal <br />corporation <br />by: /s/ Elisha Large <br />- Mayor <br />by: /s/ John Fields <br />Recorder pro ten <br />/s/ R.
