320 <br />t <br />j ~ ORDINANCE N0. 8825 <br />I <br />~ An Ordinance adopting by reference the provisions of the'Uniform Traffic Act <br />1 being Sections 115-301 to 115-3,101 by Oregon Compiled la~;Ys annotated,. as amended by <br />Oregon Laws, 1941 and 1943 and 1845; in as far as applicable in the City of Eugene, <br />t <br />~ limiting the penalty to the limitations of the Charter of the City of Eugene, and declaring <br />i <br />~ an emergency, and repealing ordinance PJo. 8706. <br />THE CITY 0 F EU GENE DOES ORDAIN A S FOLLOWS ; <br />j Section 1. The definition of the terms provided in the state Uniform Traffic Act, <br />Title 115, Chapter 3, Article 1, Section 115-301, Oregon Compiled Laws Annotated, as <br />1 <br />amended by Oregoiz Laws 1~i41 and 1843 and 1945, together with all amendments of said section <br />i <br />j which are now or may hereafter be enacted, are hereby adopted by reference and made a part <br />J of this ordinance. <br />,i Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this <br />ordinance shall upon conviction in the Recorder's court be sentenced to pay a fine not to <br />exceed X200.00 and not to exceed any fine provided for in the State Uniform Traffic Act <br />and may be imprisoned in the city jail one day for each X2.00 of the fine unpaid. <br />Section 5. WHEREAS, violations of the traffic laws have become so numberous and so <br />deadly to menace the Lives and property of the people of the City of Eugene, an emergency <br />is therefore declared to exist and it is declared to be necessary for the immediate pre- <br />
