Chapman ' <br />Beginning at a point which is the intersection of the center line o£ Eighth Avenue <br />extended and the west line of Chambers street, said point being 30 feet west of the north <br />west oorner of the James Huddleston Donation Land Claim No. 37, thence west 121$.7. feet, <br />thenoe south 30 feet, thence east 1216.7.feet, thence north along the west line of Chaur <br />bars street 30 feet to the place of beginning; containing 36,502.20 square feet. <br />Section 2. That to open and establish said alley, it will be neoessary to acquire <br />the land as shoevn by said report and the City of Eugene does hereby determine to acquire <br />said land mentioned and described in said report for the purpose of opening of the alley <br />between Seventh Avenue and Eighth Avenue west from west line of Hallock Addition to Gar- <br />field street, Eugene, Oregon. <br />Secti on ~j. That ~filliam R. Robertson, James A. Rodman, Sr., and F. M. Cashman <br />three disinterested free-holders of the City of Eugene and each possessing the qualifica <br />tions of 3urorsoof the Circuit Court of Lane County, Oregon, are appointed as viewers to <br />view such proposed alley and make an assessment of the damages and benefits as provided <br />in Section !~ of Chapter ~ of the Charter of the City of Eugene. <br />Section L~.. That said viewers are directed to meet on the 27th day of Jun®, 19iLF5, <br />at 9s30 o'clock A.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Ball in the City of Eugene, and <br />the City Recorder is directed to cause a'notice to property owners by publication for at <br />Ieast ten days successively prior to the said day assigned for said viewers to meet in a <br />newspaper published in the City of Eugene, giving the names of and the time and place app= <br />ointed for them to meet and specifying with convenient certainity the boundaries, termini, <br />or other description of said proposed alley, and the boundaries or other description of <br />the parcels of private property to be appropriated for said purpose. <br />Section 5. That the City Recorder. is directed to send by mail postpaid, a copy of <br />each nitiee to each of the property owners whose property is proposed to be appropraated <br />or to the agent of such owner where the postoffice address of .such owner or agent is known <br />to him, and if such postoffice address is unknown to him, then such notice shall be directed <br />to such owner or agent at Eugene,•Oregon, as provided in Section 3 of Chapter ~ of the <br />Charter of the City of Eugene. . <br />Section b. That it is neoessary for the convenience of the citisens of the City <br />of Eugene, that said alley be opened and extended and.an emergency is therefore declared <br />to exist, and it is therefore deolared to exist, and it is therefore de8~ared.to be for <br />the immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the City of Eugene that this <br />Ordinance become effective immediately upon its passage by the Common Council and approval <br />by the'Mayor. <br />Approved by the 1Qayor this <br />11th day of June, 19L~5. <br />~assed by the Common Council , <br />this 11th day of June, 191i.5. <br />~s~ Earl L.
