The Common Council of tie City of Eugene <br />hereby i.niti_ates v acati_on proceedings on its own authority without <br />petition or consent of the property ovmers, excepting as provided <br />by statute, of the following described property to-writ: <br />The West 5.5 feet of Lots 1, 2, 3, !~, 5, and 6 and <br />the East 5.5 feet of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 <br />all in ~slock 30, Gross Addition to Eugene, Lane <br />County, Oregon. <br />Section 2. A.hearing shall be held upon the proposal to vacate <br />the street as herein provided, and said hearing shall be held on <br />11th day of March, 1916, at the Council Chambers in the City Ha11 <br />in Eugene, Oregon, at 7:30 o'clock Y. M. of said day, at which time <br />all persons will be heard upon objections or suggestions vri.th <br />reference to the vacation of said street, and at said time the council <br />will provide for the said vacation of said premises or deny such <br />vacation, and in case the vacation is made will make provisions for <br />any damages sustained by loc~J. a: sessmsnt. <br />Section 3. The City Recorder be and he is hereby required <br />to immediateltT publish for four consecutive weeks in a nevrspaper <br />published in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, notice of the proposed <br />vacation. Such notice shall give the description of the area to~be <br />vacated as herein set-out, and state the date ti~en this ordinance <br />was passed; the name of any petitioners petitioning for said <br />vacation; the ,date when the said petition, together with any <br />objection or remonstrances which ma;T he in writing and. filed. vrith <br />the City Recorder prior to the date of said hearing will be heard and <br />considered. <br />Section LG. The City Recorder shall forthwith and within five <br />days after the first publication of said notice, post or cause to be <br />posted at or near each end of said proposed vacation, a copy of the <br />foregoing notice, vrhic'r, shall be headed "Notice of Street Vacation", <br />and tirhich notice sYiall be posted in at least two conspicuous places <br />in such proposed vacation of such area, <br />
