<br />4~9 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE N0. 8897 <br />An Ordinance submitting to the electors of the City of Eugene and <br />to the electors of the territory hereinafter described the question "For <br />Annexation" or "Against Annexation" of such area and ordering a special election <br />to be held in such aroas and in the City of Eugene, on the 18th day of July, 19l~.6, <br />designating polling places, appo~.nting fudges and clerks of electian and all acts <br />necessary for the carrying on of said election, and declaring an emergency. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES OFDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. That whereas more than fifteen per cent of the resident <br />owners of property in the territory proposed to be annexed having signed and filed <br />with the City authorities a petition requesting such new territory to be included <br />therein, the Common Council of the City of Eugene hereby submits to the electors <br />of the City of Eugene and to the electors of the following described area, to-wit: <br />ComTnencing at the intersection of the mouth line of 22nd <br />Avenue West and the West City Limits of the City of Eugene, <br />running thence north along the West City limits to the South <br />line of Fifteenth Avenue West, thence Westerly along the <br />South City limits of Eugene to a point 903 feet East of <br />Chambers Street, being the East line of the municipal air- <br />port, thence South 520 feet to the South line of D.L.C. No.37, <br />thence West $3.3 feet, thence South 530 feet to the center <br />line of 18th Avenue West, if extended, thence East 571 feet to <br />the West line of Polk Street, thence South 20 feet, thence East <br />along the South line of Eighteenth Avenue West 378 feet to the <br />East line of the municipal airport, thence South along the East <br />line of the municipal airport 17i~5 feet to the South line of <br />22nd Avenue West, if produced west, thence East 200 feet-=to <br />the place of beginning. <br />the question "For Annexation" or "Against Annexation" of such territory to the <br />City of Eugene. <br />Section 2. The Common Council of the City of Eugene hereby orders a <br />speoial election to be held in the City of Eugene, Oregon, and to be held in the <br />area described, on the 18th day of July, 19.6, at which election there shall be <br />submitted to the eleotors of said city and to the proposed annexation area for <br />their approval or refection the proposal "For Annexation" or "Against Annexation" <br />of said area to the City of Eugen®. <br />Section 3. That said proposal shall be placed upon the official ballot <br />by the City lecorder to be voted upon by the elecstors of the proposed area and by <br />the electors of said city at said election. <br />Section ~. The City Recorder shall provide.sueh poll books, ballot <br />boxes, tally sheets and such other supplies for eaoh proposed area, as are neces- <br />sary for the carrying on of the election, all of which shall be delivered to the <br />election board. <br />Section 5. The following are hereby designated as the polling places <br />for said election in the City of Eugene, one to be in each ward of said city and <br />
