~~.s2 ORDINANCE N0. 8898 An Ordinance initiating the vacation of the following described premises, to-wit : Twentieth Avenue West from Lawrence street to Washington Street; The Alley running North & South thru Block 4, College Hi11 park .:Add., from Nineteenth Avenue West to Twentieth Avenue West; The alley running North & ~~outh thru Block 10, College Hill Park Addition, from Twentieth Ave. West to Twenty-first Ave. West, and calling a hearing and directing that notice be given. THE CITY OF EJGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWSs Section 1. The Common Council of the pity of Eugene hereby initiates vacation proceedings on its own authority without petition or consent of the property owners, excepting as provided by statute, of the following described property, to-wit; Twentieth Ave. West from Lawrence Street to Washington Street; ~ The alley running North Fc 'South thru Block 4, College Hill, ~ Park Addition, from Nineteenth Ave. West to Twentieth Ave. Pest; The alley running North c?_ South thru Block 10, College Hill Park addition, from Twentieth Ave. West to Twenty first Ave. West, Section 2. A hearing shall be held upon the proposal to vacate the street 1 and alleys as herein provided, and said hearing shall be had on the 8th day of July, 1946, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in Eugene, Oregon, at 7:30 ofclock P.M. . of said day, at which time all persons will be heard upon objections or suggestions with reference to the vacation of said portion of street and alleys, and at said time i the Council will provide for the vacation of said premises or deny such vacation, and in-case the vacation is made will make provisions for any damages sustained, by local assessment. Section 3. The City Recorder be and he is hereby required to immediately publish for four consecutive weeks in a newspaper published in gene, Lane County, Oregon, the newspaper of the city for this purpose, notice of the proposed vacation. Such notice shall give the description of the area to be vacated as herein set out, and state the date when this ordinance was passed; the name of any petitioners pet- , itioning for said vacation; the date when the said petition, together with any objection or remonstrances which may be made in writing and filed with the City i Recorder prior to the date of said hearing, will be heard and considered. Seotion 4. The Gity Recorder forthMrith and within five days after the first publication of said notice, post or cause to be posted at or near each end of each of said proposed vacations, a copy of the foregoing notice which shall be headed "Notice of Street and Alley Vacation", and which notice shall be posted in a~t least two conspicuous places in each of such proposed vacations of such areas.
