~~.s2 <br />ORDINANCE N0. 8898 <br />An Ordinance initiating the vacation of the following described premises, <br />to-wit : <br />Twentieth Avenue West from Lawrence street to Washington Street; <br />The Alley running North & South thru Block 4, College Hi11 park .:Add., <br />from Nineteenth Avenue West to Twentieth Avenue West; <br />The alley running North & ~~outh thru Block 10, College Hill Park <br />Addition, from Twentieth Ave. West to Twenty-first Ave. West, <br />and calling a hearing and directing that notice be given. <br />THE CITY OF EJGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWSs <br />Section 1. The Common Council of the pity of Eugene hereby initiates <br />vacation proceedings on its own authority without petition or consent of the property <br />owners, excepting as provided by statute, of the following described property, to-wit; <br />Twentieth Ave. West from Lawrence Street to Washington Street; <br />~ The alley running North Fc 'South thru Block 4, College Hill, <br />~ Park Addition, from Nineteenth Ave. West to Twentieth Ave. Pest; <br />The alley running North c?_ South thru Block 10, College Hill <br />Park addition, from Twentieth Ave. West to Twenty first Ave. West, <br />Section 2. A hearing shall be held upon the proposal to vacate the street <br />1 <br />and alleys as herein provided, and said hearing shall be had on the 8th day of July, <br />1946, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in Eugene, Oregon, at 7:30 ofclock P.M. <br />. of said day, at which time all persons will be heard upon objections or suggestions <br />with reference to the vacation of said portion of street and alleys, and at said time <br />i the Council will provide for the vacation of said premises or deny such vacation, and <br />in-case the vacation is made will make provisions for any damages sustained, by <br />local assessment. <br />Section 3. The City Recorder be and he is hereby required to immediately <br />publish for four consecutive weeks in a newspaper published in gene, Lane County, <br />Oregon, the newspaper of the city for this purpose, notice of the proposed vacation. <br />Such notice shall give the description of the area to be vacated as herein set out, <br />and state the date when this ordinance was passed; the name of any petitioners pet- <br />, itioning for said vacation; the date when the said petition, together with any <br />objection or remonstrances which may be made in writing and filed with the City <br />i <br />Recorder prior to the date of said hearing, will be heard and considered. <br />Seotion 4. The Gity Recorder forthMrith and within five days after the first <br />publication of said notice, post or cause to be posted at or near each end of each <br />of said proposed vacations, a copy of the foregoing notice which shall be headed <br />"Notice of Street and Alley Vacation", and which notice shall be posted in a~t least <br />two conspicuous places in each of such proposed vacations of such areas. <br />
