I <br />4'9 6 <br />ORDJINANCE N0. a928 <br />AN ORDINANCE initiating the vacation of the following described premises, <br />to-wits <br />The platted alley extending East and nest through Block 20, Chambers <br />Addition to the City of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, bounded by the West <br />line of Garfield Street and the East line of Arthur Street in said City of <br />Eugene; and calling a hearing therefor and directing that notice thereof be <br />given <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Seetior. 1. Tyre Common Council of the City of Eugene hereby initiates <br />vacation proceedings on its own authority without petition or consent of the property <br />owners, excepting as provided by statute, of tie following described property, to-wit: <br />The platted alley extending East and West through Block 20, Chambers <br />Addition to the City of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, bounded by the West line <br />of Garfield Street and the East line of Arthur Street in said City of Eugene. <br />Section 2. A hearing shall be held upon the proposal to vacate the said <br />alley as herein provided and said hearing shall be had on the 1l~th day of October, <br />1g1~6, at the Counoil Chambers iii the City Hall in Eugene, Oregon, at 7:30 o~clock <br />P.Q., of said day, at which time alI persons will be heard' upon ob3eetions or sug-~ <br />gestions with refere~iee to the vacation of said alley and at said time the Council <br />will provide for the vacation of said premises or deny said vacation, and in case <br />the vacation is made, will make provision for any damages sustained by local assess <br />meat. <br />Seotion 3. The City Recorder be and he is hereby required to immediately <br />publish for four consecutive weeks in a newspaper published at Eugene, bane County, <br />Oregon, the newspaper selected by him, being hereby designa;~ed as the official newsQ <br />paper of the City for this purpose, notice of the proposed vacation. Such notice <br />shall give the description of the area to be vacated as herein sat out and state <br />the date when this Ordinance was passed; the names, of any petitioners petitioning <br />for said vacation and the date when the said petition, togetYier with any objections <br />or remonstrances which may be made in writing and filed with said Recorder prior to <br />the date of said hearing, will be heard and considered. <br />Section 1,~. The City Recorder be and he is hereby directed to forthwith <br />and within five days after the first publication of said notice, post or cause to <br />be posted at or near each end of said proposed vacation area a copy of the foregoing <br />directed notice which shall be headed, "Notice of Alley Vacation," and a copy of <br />which notice whall also.be posted in at least two conspicuous places in such pro' <br />posed vacation of such area.
