I <br />X20 <br />ORDIPIANCE N0. 8951 <br />An Ordinance amending Section 1!~ of Ordinance Ato. 8366 passed <br />by the Common Council of the City of Eugene, on November 13, <br />1933 and approved by the Mayor of said City on ?lovember 14, <br />1933, ate' dec]2ring an emergency. <br />TF~E CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLIAYJS: <br />Section 1. That Section 1It of Ordinance No. 8366 of the City of Eugene, <br />passed by the Common Council on November 13, 1933, and approved by the ~~ayor of said <br />City on November 14, 1933, be and the same is hereby amended to read as (allows: <br />Section 14. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm cr corporation, to <br /> <br />engage in plumbing or to install or do maintenance work upon or sell plumbing within <br />the City of Eugene without having first complied vnth the terms of tnis ordinance, <br />paid the licenses and fees herein provided fo r, and secured a permit, and in all <br />things complied with the terms of this ordinance; provided, however, the phrase, <br />~tengage in plumbing or to install or do maintenance work upont~, above, shall not be <br />deemed nor construed to include the work or services of any person, firm or corpora- <br />tion performed solely in the process of cleaning plumbing or removing stoppage <br />materia7_s and growths therefrom by mechanical deTrices, which mechanical device shall <br />have been first approved by the Engineer of the City of Eugene, and which work or <br />services do not involve the removal or replacement of any phunbing except screw caps <br />and plugs. <br />Section 2. UThereas it is to the best interests of the City of Eugene that <br />the work and service of cleaning sewers as aforesaid should be permitted within the <br />City of ugene, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and it is necessary for the <br />immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the City of Eugene that <br />this ordinance take effect immediately upon its passage by the Common Council and <br />its approval by the Mayor, and it is so ordered. <br />Approved by the Mayor this Passed by the Common Council <br />13th day of November, 1946 this 12th day of Pdavember, 1946 <br />` /s~ Earl L.
