Through Collaborative Community <br />Goal Setting, we hop to ensure neighborhood livability and economic vibrancy while <br />also accomplishing broader city-wide goals, thus maintaining the integrity of Envision <br />Eugene’s seven pillars. <br />WHAT WOULD THE OUTCOMES BE? <br />The outcome of the Collaborative Community Goal Setting process would be a <br />specific recommendation to City Council, for City Council to vote on, from the <br />community Team that answers the following questions: <br />1.For each of the six key transit corridors and downtown, how much new <br />development of each type (multi-family, single family, missing middle, etc.) is <br />each area's "share" to accomplish broader community goals and appropriately <br />manage growth? <br />2.How many sites for homeless and very-low-income housing are needed in each <br />region to ensure that these needed facilities are distributed fairly and not <br />concentrated in one area? <br />3.What areas along the corridors should be the initial focus for localized planning <br />efforts, with the understanding that the exact boundaries may change as the <br />local teams delve into the details and additional community outreach will need <br />to occur if that happens....For example, River Road is a long corridor-- is there <br />a specific part of River Road that it makes sense to focus on first? <br />4.What infrastructure and service investments are the highest priority for each <br />area, given their relative strengths and needs, to provide information for the <br />local team to expand upon further? This would include things such as parks, <br />commercial centers, transportation infrastructure, etc. For example, a true 20- <br />minute neighborhood needs parks/open space, commercial areas, transit, etc. <br />nearby. Perhaps, during the course of this process, it is determined that the <br />West 11th corridor has comparatively good transportation resources, but lacks <br />parkland, while South Willamette has a comparatively good supply of <br />parks/open space, but faces more transportation challenges. This analysis <br />would help focus and put into context the refinement-plan level discussions. <br /> <br />
