From Jean Diamond and Michael Karasek 09/18/2016
We are unable to attend themeeting at South Eugene today and want to giveourinput as residents for
almost 40 years inthe College Hill neighborhood which is directly affected by the South Willamette
Zone.We are pleased that theCity is taking a step back and listeningtothecommunity.
Ourpriorities:
1.We support the livability and sustainability of existing neighborhoods. Currently College Hill
is a "walkable", low traffic area. We would like to keep it that way.
2.We believe that high densityhousing leads to destabilizing existing neighborhoods. We feel
that existing, functioning neighborhoods should not be dramatically altered in pursuitof
increased density.
3.With an increase in thenumber ofdwellings there isalso increased traffic on the neighboring streets.
4.The College Hill neighbors should be consulted and informed of any potential changes in zoning.
5.A refinement planis essential if any changes are planned for this area.
Thankyoufor your interest in hearing from the neighbors.
Jean Diamond and Michael Karasek
