61~ 2 ORDINANCE N0. 9036 An Ordinance regulating and licensing certain punch boards in the City of Eugene, Providing penalties far the violation thereof, and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF EU (ENE DOES Cfl2DAIId AS InLLOWS : Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, individual or as an agent for ano a to sell, lease, distribute, or place any board as defined in Section 1, or for any son to have in possession for the purpose of having operat- ed or used on or when i sa'd persons premises, or in connection with said persons business, any board as def ned in section 1 hereof, without first having obtained a " license for the required class and paying the amount of the fee as hereinafter provided. ` L - It hall be lawful for any person to have in his possession any board as define ~ J ~ in Secti°on 1 he eof ich shall pay, directly or indirectly, any cash award, or any ~~ merchandis p 'ze o other thing upon any token, number, insignia or other thing than the ~ ability o the p er to answer, through the exercise 'of I~.owledge or skill, the I 4 ques'tio contained on the slip punched or drawn from said board, and the ability of the ~ player so to do shall be the sole, only and exclusive basis for such award. It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or give away any punch board sticker I or stickers, or to provide stickers for use on or in connection with any punch board ~ which said person is not licensed to operate. 1 ' It shall be unlawful for any person operating or conducting, or employed in or about, any business where punch boards are kept or used, publicly to exhibit, or to '~ i offer for public play, any punch board whiah does not have attached thereto the re- ,~ quired sticker, with the serial number of the board clearly marked thereon in ink.
