I <br />6~6 <br />ORDINAAtCE N0. 061 <br />An Ordinance amending Section j of Ordinance No. 9058 of the City of Eugene, and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLO'~iS: <br />Section 1. That Section j of Ordinance No. 905g passed by the Common-Council of <br />the City of Eugene on September gth ,91+7, and approved by the Mayor on Septemb er 9th", <br />1917, entitled: <br />"An Ordinance defining, regulating and licensing solicitors xlithin thy.. City _ " <br />of Eugene; requiring a bond in lieu of investigation of qualifications;" <br />providing a penalty for the violation hereof; repealing certain Ordinances <br />or parts of Ordinances, and excepting certain persons from the effect Yiereof." <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 3. Fees. The license fee for solicitors hereunder shall be $5.00 per <br />fiscal year or fraction thereof, payable in advance, for each solicitor as defined in <br />Section 1. The City Recorder may waive the payment of the license fee for any applicant <br />who is an honorably discharged disabled soldier, sailor or marine of the military or <br />naval service of the United States, who is a resident of this state and suffers not less <br />Haan forty per cent disability, upon presentation of such applicant's certificate of <br />honorable discharge from such service and such disability, and f cr any applicant ~r~ho is <br />a blind person and resident of the State of Oregon." <br />Section 2. That whereas certain persons are applying for licenses under and pursuant <br />to said Ordinance No. 90~g and that it is necessary and proper that such licenses should <br />be issued a,.nd soliciting thereby permitted, a,n:'emergency is hereby declared to exist, and <br />it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace , health and safety of the City <br />of Eugene that this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage by the <br />Common Council and its approval by the Mayor. <br />Approved by the Mayor this <br />2~rd day of September, 19+7. <br />Lsf Earl L.
