~2 <br /> <br />ORDIPIANCE N0. 9171 <br />An Ordinance defining, prohibiting and providing a penalty for the operation or sale <br />of air guns within the City of Eugene, and declaring.. an emergency. <br />THE CITY O F EUGE P1E DO E`5 ORDAIN AS FOLLOV~S <br />Section 1. AIR GUPdS PROHIBITED. ^1he term °air gun'! as used in this section shall <br />mean any small gun or rifle capabel of discharging a leaden or metallic bullet, or•any <br />pellet capable of injuring persons or property, by means of a spring or air pressure. <br />(a) It shall be unlawful for any minor in the City of Eugene to have <br />in his possession, carry or discharge any air gun. <br />1 <br />(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to give, seel, or otherwise <br />dispose of, any air gun to any minor. <br />(c) It shall be unlawful for any parent or guardian of any minor to <br />permit such minor to have in his or her possession, carry or <br />discharge any air gun. <br />Section 2. Any person or persons who shall violate the provisions of this ordinance <br />shall, upon conviction thereof before the Municipal Court of th.e City of Eugene, Oregon, <br />be fined not more than X100.00 or be imprisoned not to exceed 50 days. <br />Section 3. ti~~~REAS, the immediate enactment of this Ordinance is deemed necessary <br />for the maintenance of the peace, health, and safety of the city and its inhabitants, an <br />emergency is hereby declared to er>ist and this ordinance shall become immediately effective <br />upon its passage by the council and approval by the Mayor. <br />Passed b_y the Common Council <br />this 28th day of Juzie, 1948. <br />Approved by the Mayor thi s <br />29th day of June, 19118. <br />i~ /s/ Henry F.
