2`7_x. <br />ORDItIA.I~fGE N0. 9286 <br />Arr Ordinance adopting the plans and specifications of the City Engineer for the ~... <br />construction of. a sanitary sewer in the alley betv~reen Harris and Potter Street f ran Twenty- <br />eighth Avenue to Twenty ninth Avenue in the City of Eug~e, Oregon, directing the City <br />Recorder .to advertise for bids for the constructio~i of said sewer in accordance with such <br />plans and specifications, and notifying property -owners when and where the bids therefor <br />will be opened and c~sidered. <br />1~KEAS, the Common Council of the said City of Eugene, on the 28th day of larch, 19~t9, <br />1 <br />passed Ordinance No. 9285 for the construction. of said sewer in the street described and <br />set f orth iri the title of this Ordinance, and said Ordinance was approved by the Mayor of <br />the City of Eug cme on the 29th day of March, 1919; and <br />VJ~iEREAS, 5ectiar~. 3 of said Ordinance directed the City Engineer to make plans and <br />specifications for the c ons true tion of said s ewer as specified in said Ordinance, and to <br />file the same with the City Recorder , and <br />~hfHhREAS, in accordance witty such instructions 'the City ~%ngineer has prepared said <br />plans and specifications and filed the same Frith the City Recorder of said City of Eugene <br />on the 28th day of March, 19l~9, and the Common Council of the City of Eugene having examined <br />and approved the same; <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FnLLOti~S: <br />Section 1, That the plans and specificatirns of the City Engineer for the castruction <br />1 <br />of a sanitary sewer on the alley between Harr9.s Street and Potter Street f ran TWenty~-eighth <br />Avenue to Twentyninth Avenue, in the City of Eugene, and doing such vrork as may be necessary <br />to completely construct the same, are in allthings approved and adopted and the said sewer <br />shall be constructed in accordance the rewith. <br />Section 2, That the City Recorder be, and he is hereby, instructed to give notice to <br />contractors and property owners as provided in Sections 52, 53, 5t~, 56, 56B and 57 of the <br />Charter off' the City of Eugene. inviting bids fcr the aonstructicn of said sewers as prescribed <br />in and in c onfirmity to said plans and specificatims. <br />Section 3. That the Ccanmon Crn:ncil dechred that the said construction and the whole <br />thereof shall be let as one ccr!trrtct and the City Recorder is directed to state in the notice <br />to contractors and property owners that said contract will be let in one contract, and to <br />also state therein the time and glace when and where bids for the constructial of said sewer <br />will be opened and oensidered by the Common Council, and that at such time and place property <br />owners may~.le remonstrances against letting said contract. <br />Section ~.t. That the party whose bid is accepted for said construction sign a contract <br />1 <br />for said s~ork within ten days from the time of the receipt by him of the ro tification of the <br />acceptance of his bid, and the work thereon shall be commenced within ten days after the <br />letting of said contract, and shall be completed vrithin sixty d~~s thereafter, unless an <br />extension of the time therefor be granted by the Common Council. The party whose bid is <br />accepted shall also execute and d eliver to the City a good and s uff3~cient bond, with one <br />J <br />
