MINUTES <br /> <br /> Eugene City Council <br /> Regular Session <br /> Council Chamber--City Hall <br /> <br /> January 10, 2005 <br /> 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: George Poling, David Kelly, Betty Taylor, Jennifer Solomon, Chris Pryor, <br /> Andrea Ortiz. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS ABSENT: Bonny Bettman, Gary Pap~. <br /> <br />Mayor Kitty Piercy called the meeting of the City Council to order. She welcomed councilors Ortiz and <br />Pryor to the dais. <br /> <br />1. ACTION: <br /> Election of City Council Officers for 2005 <br /> <br /> Councilor Taylor, seconded by Councilor Pryor, moved to elect Councilor <br /> George Poling as President of the City Council for 2005. Roll call vote; <br /> the motion passed unanimously, 6:0. <br /> <br /> Councilor Poling, seconded by Councilor Taylor, moved to elect Councilor <br /> Jennifer Solomon as Vice President of the City Council for 2005. <br /> <br />Councilor Kelly noted, for the record, the long-standing rule that all councilors rotate through the offices of <br />Council President and Council Vice President. <br /> <br /> Roll call vote; the motion passed unanimously, 6:0. <br /> <br />2. PUBLIC FORUM <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy reviewed the rules of the Public Forum. <br /> <br /> Councilor Poling, seconded by Councilor Solomon, moved to add 30 <br /> minutes to the time allotted for the Public Forum. Roll call vote; the <br /> motion passed unanimously, 6:0. <br /> <br />Bruce Miller, PO Box 50968, Eugene, wished the council a prosperous year.
