Sustainable Community Development <br /> A community that retains a high quafity of life anda healthy economy, effectively finks landuse and <br /> transportation planning, and successfully manages growth and change in the urban environment. <br /> <br />Financial and/or Resource Considerations <br />None. <br /> <br />Other Background Information <br />Please see attached memorandum from LCOG. <br /> <br />Timing <br />The City of Springfield will consider these amendments on March 15, 2004, and the County Board of <br />Commissioners on March 17, 2004. <br /> <br />OPTIONS <br />Options are limited because the same amendments must be approved by Springfield and Lane County. <br />Generally, staff discourages changes that are not within the minor "housekeeping" intent of the package <br />of amendments (outside of Chapter III-C, Natural Resources). <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommendations are contained in the attached LCOG memorandum. <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION <br />Move to adopt an ordinance amending the Eugene-Springfield Metropolitan Area General Plan (Metro <br />Plan) to adopt as part of periodic review Metro Plan Housekeeping revisions; a new Metro Plan Chapter <br />III-C: Environmental Resources Element; a New Metro Plan Diagram; adopting savings and <br />severability clauses; and providing an effective date. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />A.
