<br />Section 2. The City of Eugene will continue to comply with ORS 181.850(1), which <br />provides that "No law enforcement agency of the State of Oregon or of any political subdivision of <br />the state shall use agency moneys, equipment or personnel for the purpose of detecting or <br />apprehending persons whose only violation of law is that they are persons of foreign citizenship <br />residing in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws." <br /> <br />Section 3. The City of Eugene will be attentive to the fair and humane treatment of any <br />individual subject to any interaction with a city, county, state or federal agency. <br /> <br />Section 4. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the President of the United States, <br />the United States Attorney General, the Majority Leader of the United States Senate, the Speaker <br />of the House of Representatives, each member of the Oregon Congressional Delegation, and the <br />Commissioner of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service. <br /> <br />The foregoing Resolution adopted the 2J!!.llay of April, 1999. <br /> <br />Il <br /> <br />........ <br /> <br />j-(J" ~ <br /> <br />City Recorder <br /> <br />Resolution - 2 <br />
