RESOLUTION NO. 4607 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REVISED CHARTER OF THE AMAZON NEIGHBORS ASSOCIATION; CONFIRMING RECOGNITION; AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 4212. The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: A. The Amazon Neighbors was recognized by the Council as the official voice of the neighborhood area designated in the revised Amazon Neighbors Charter approved and adopted by Council Resolution No. 4212 on November 5, 1990. B. Members of the Amazon Neighbors organization voted unanimously at their October 27, 1999 general meeting to revise their name and charter and have requested the Council to recognize their revised name and charter as the approved charter for the Amazon Neighbors Association. Prior to that action the proposed charter was widely circulated throughout the neighborhood for review by members. The revised charter provides a neighborhood organization for primarily the same area as designated in the organization's original charter (approved by Resolution 2593), and is in compliance with the City's adopted Neighborhood Recognition Policy. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE, a Municipal Corporation of the State of Oregon, as follows: Section 1. Based on the above findings, which are adopted herein, and upon the action of the members of the Amazon Neighbors, the Amazon Neighbors Association Charter, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A and incorporated by reference, is hereby approved and accepted, and recognition of the Amazon Neighbors Association as the official voice of the neighborhood area designated therein is hereby confirmed. Section 2. Resolution No. 4212, and the revised charter of the Amazon Neighbors approved therein, is hereby repealed. Section 3. The City Recorder is requested to forward a copy of this Resolution to the Amazon Neighbors Association. The foregoing Resolution adopted the 22nd day of November, 1999. (I c- ~!z: Resolution
