Pt~blic Process <br />A series of three workshops were held over nine months to provi, de info collect <br />input, and support for proposed alternatives. 11~e interest shown in the planning <br />process was very strong as evidenced by the number of individuals attending <br />workshops and the volume of input submitted to staff. <br /> <br />Each workshop was -well publicized. In addition to an interested parties list which grew <br />with 4,000 postcard invitations were mailed to park for <br />each ads were placed in the Register Guard and Eugene and Posters <br /> <br /> -workshop, held on September <br />25, 2003, at the Hilyard Community Center. The goal and objectives of the public <br />process were outlined as follows: <br /> <br />* priority <br /> improvements to help d how to <br /> <br />Objective2: Identif5 <br />existing Master Plan remain relevant <br />while updating and recording new trends <br />in public opinion and eXpertise. Amend <br />the existing Master Plan as needed. <br /> <br />Staff provided a description of existing park <br />conditions and current thinking regarding <br />the bond measure funds, parking, and <br />natural resources. A large group discussion <br />of general park issues concluded with a <br />prioritization exercise.
