Histo_o~ <br /> <br /> · was initially acquired in 1947 through the Century Progress Fund. <br /> <br /> ora <br />ballfield and the swimming pool opening. The creek was &amafically modified by the <br />Army Corp of Engineers in 1958 -when it was enlarged, str and partially lined <br />with concrete. <br /> <br />The 1960's and 1970's playground, <br />tenniscourts, Amazon <br />constructed. In 1974, Amazon Parkway was extended between 24a~ and 30th Avenue. In <br />'the late 1980% the playground was remodeled, the Hilyard Community Center was <br />opened and the softball/soccer field was constructed south of 24th.
