Attachment A
Interested Applicants
InterestedApplicants
10/28/2016 9:58:57 AM
1Please explain your understanding of Eugene's right-to-know law.
Every citizen has the right to know what chemicals/pollutants are being discharged into our storm water and
wastewater systems and in the air we breathe. It is the responsibility of manufacturers to make this information
available in an accurate and understandable format to anyone who seeks this information.
2How would you work to make decisions as a board member given that there may be persons on the board whose views are
in direct opposition to yours? do you have any experience doing this? Please explain.
Conflict and/or change management requires both parties to not only communicate clearly, they must also be willing
to listen and understand an opposition's point of view. Review and vigorous research must be performed to ensure
information accuracy before final decisions should be made. I have been involved with change management for the
past 19 years, specifically with health and safety management and most recently, environmental compliance within
my organization.
3Please describe your experience in the formation of or implementation of public policy and regulations.
None.
4Why did you apply for the Toxics Board, and what do you hope to contribute?
I just feel that my application for the Toxics Board is the right thing to do for me at this stage in my life. With my
varied background, I feel that my experiences in manufacturing would greatly contribute to the successful review and
implementation of public policies and regulations. I also want to ensure that other members of the Toxics Board fully
hear and understand the various positions each manufacturer could bring to the board in regards to the successful
management of toxic/hazardous materials.
5FOR RIGHT-TO-KNOW ADVOCATES ONLY:
Please describe your experience advocating for the public's right to know.
None as a right-to-know advocate.
6FOR RIGHT TO KNOW ADVOCATES ONLY:
Please describe your familiarity with chemical substances and processes used in manufacturing.
None as a right-to-know advocate.
