Attachment B
Interested Applicants
InterestedApplicants
10/28/2016 9:58:57 AM
Personal InterestContribution
I wish to be involved in my community and support the City
in implementation of the Toxics Right to Know program
while representing the local industry base.
1Please explain your understanding of Eugene's right-to-know law.
Local businesses within specific industries at or above a given employment level are required to report the quantity of
hazardous materials purchased and the disposition of that material (use, conversion, waste, etc.) in the period.
2How would you work to make decisions as a board member given that there may be persons on the board whose views are
in direct opposition to yours? do you have any experience doing this? Please explain.
Boards, in part, exist to allow citizens to provide input and to deliberate on topics impacting their community. We are
a diverse community with many different positions and backgrounds. I would expect to have factual discussions that
focus on our charter and follow meeting protocol to arrive at a decision supported by a properly raised and passed
motion.
3Please describe your experience in the formation of or implementation of public policy and regulations.
None.
4Why did you apply for the Toxics Board, and what do you hope to contribute?
As a member of the Eugene community and an employee of a company required to report under the regulation I'm
directly impacted by the work of the Board. I would hope to provide my industry insight and past experience to assist
the Board in implementing the city's Charter.
5FOR RIGHT-TO-KNOW ADVOCATES ONLY:
Please describe your experience advocating for the public's right to know.
N/A
6FOR RIGHT TO KNOW ADVOCATES ONLY:
Please describe your familiarity with chemical substances and processes used in manufacturing.
N/A
