<br />ATTACHMENT C <br /> <br />FY '06 Planning Division Work Program <br />Approved by City Council on July 27, 2005 <br /> <br />On July 27,2005, the City Council approved the Planning Division Work Program for FY06. The <br />following table reflects the Council's action to articulate 'high priority items' for the Planning Division, <br />as well.as ongoing tasks, and other potential work tasks. Over this past year, the high priority items <br />have been used to determine the majority of the Planning Commission's agendas. Similarly, these high <br />priority items, along with other mandated responsibilities, help define the focus of the Planning Division <br />staff for the coming year. <br /> <br /> <br />HIGH PRIORITY <br />1 Mixed Use Centers ~ <br />· Opportunity Siting: Primary strategy for achieving density targets in mixed <br />use centers. Combine opportunity siting with city-wide estimates of future <br />population which will be approximately allocated to mixed use districts and <br />other areas in the city. <br />· Advise staff, public, and prospective developers regarding previously master <br />planned nodes (Royal, Chase). <br />. Site specific planning. <br />. Chambers Reconsidered (provides localized infill standards). <br />· Public outreach, property owner collaboration, develop info materials. <br />. Code assessment and amendments, inc. /ND overlay. <br />. Zone changes <br />. Incentives and 'New Tools' for implementation. <br />. Identify infill tools which could be applied outside ofMUC's <br />. New zone that provides/requires master plan prior to significant development <br />in potential mixed use centers. <br />2 Minor amendments to Land Use Code ~ <br />Since adoption of LUCU (Land Use Code Update), many major and minor <br />amendments have been identified by numerous stakeholders. Task includes <br />gathering all comments, prioritizing, and processing those that are considered to be <br />'minor'. Include review of medical facilities provisions. <br />3 Downtown & Courthouse associated projects <br />· Follow-up/implementation from the Courthouse District Concept Plan. Work <br />includes coordination with GSA and courthouse architect, meetings with <br />developers interested in area development, and technical expertise to other <br />staff (e.g., street improvements,). <br />. Downtown Zone - Phase 1 involves research and outreach to determine if new <br />or modified zone is appropriate for downtown area. Phase 2 will include code <br />adoption and rezoning of properties. <br />· Great Streets: Implement Downtown plan provisions by adopting special <br />desi standards or uidelines. <br />4 GoalS (Natural Resources) associated projects ~ <br />.
