<br />HUMAN RIGHTS PROGRAM <br />FY 2006 ACTIVITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br /> <br />IN THE COMMUNITY <br /> <br />SUPPORTING DIVERSITY <br /> <br />2006 <br /> <br />- Apri <br /> <br />University of Oregon Disability Film Festiva <br />"We Are Bethel" Celebration - June 2006 <br />Juneteenth Celebration - June 2006 <br />Oregon Hate Crimes Conference - June 2006 <br />Japanese American Art Memorial <br /> <br />. <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />. <br />. <br /> <br />Study Circles and Youth Study Circles: The commission <br />continued to support the work of the City Club of Eugene- <br />sponsored Study Circles on Race. Commissioners facilitated and <br />participated in a second round of sessions in the spring of 2006. <br />A subcommittee of the Education and Outreach Committee sup- <br />ported the work of committee members Mo Young and Mindy <br />Inman, who facilitated youth study circles in Eugene 4J and <br />Springfield school districts. <br /> <br />In several cases, the Human Rights Program shared booth space with <br />City Diversity Committee staff, Lane County Human Rights Advisory <br />Committee staff and volunteers, Community Alliance of Lane County, <br />City Club Subcommittee on Racism and Study Circles Project, the City <br />Hall Complex community input project, and the Fair Housing Council. <br /> <br />Community Support: An important, ongoing activity of the <br />commission is supporting the work and activities of human <br />rights-oriented community organizations and individuals an <br />their accomplishments. <br /> <br />d <br /> <br />The commission provided financial support, staffed information <br />tables and/or presented/accepted HRC awards at annual com- <br />munity cultural events, including the following <br /> <br />. Youth Peace Makers Conference - October 2005 <br />. PFLAG Dinner and Auction - October 2005 <br />. Take Back the Night - October 2005 <br />. LTD Rosa Parks Day - December 2005 <br />. NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner - December 2005 <br />. MLK Celebration - January 2006 <br />. Asian Celebration - February 2006 <br />.
