Emerging Issues

Cell Tower Ordinance
Update

Investigate alternative
path process

River Road/Santa Clara Transition Project: The transition Project has
ended, but issues will continue to be addressed through the neighborhood
organizations.
Buildable Lands Supply: Draft CommerciallIndustriallands study has been
presented to the elected officials, but is not fully completed. Lane County is
lead on the project. Advent of a GIS mapping coordinator in PDD will result
in improved data collection for all land supply issues. .
Economic Development, Hospital & other major projects: Planning's role
with the hospital is now focused on processing of the plan amendments related
to the Delta Ridge site. Other activity in this category is nominal, but can pick
up at any time.
Civic Center: City Manager's office and Facilities staff are working with
Council on future city hall concepts. Planning staffs involvement has been
minimal.
This task is concluded. Following adoption of specific amendments to the cell
tower ordinance, the City Attorney provided a scope of work for a
comprehensive update of the cell tower ordinance as directed by Council.
Planning Commission continues to look at options initially through the work
on Opportunity Siting and Intill Standards. It is hoped that these efforts may
have more broad application as well.

7
