Council action can be scheduled for another date and made independently from the County’s action. If the City Council and County Board of Commissioners do not agree on the final action, the application will be referred to the Metropolitan Policy Committee (MPC) for a recommendation. CITY MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION Based on current evidence, the City Manager agrees with the Planning Commission recommendation that the application be denied because the impacts caused by dust of the proposed gravel extraction operation will not be adequately mitigated by the conditions submitted by the applicant. SUGGESTED MOTION “I move to deny the proposed Metro Plan amendments because the impacts caused by dust of the proposed gravel extraction operation will not be adequately mitigated by the conditions submitted by the applicant.” The City Manager will prepare appropriate findings that reflect the council direction for final adoption at a later date.
