Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission Capital Improvement Program <br />GLENWOOD PUMP STATION UPGRADE <br />Description: <br />Expand Glenwood pump station capacity. The existing pump station is built tobe <br />expandable in capacity when the need arises.Two pumps are installed with the <br />expandabilityto add up to two additional pumps when needed. <br />Status: <br />The project is anticipated to start design development in 2018 with consultant services. <br />The scope of work is planned to add one wastewater pumping system. <br />Justification: <br />Additional pumping capacity will be required at this MWMC pump station to handle <br />increasing flows in the Glenwood area (Springfield) and the Laurel Hill area (Eugene). <br /> Driver: <br />ProjectKeep up with capacityneeds, maintain required pumping redundancy, and prevent <br />overflows upstream of the Glenwood pump station. <br />Project Trigger: <br />Planning work in 2014 anticipates that a third pump to increase capacity should be <br />operational by about year2019. The timing will be impacted by the rate and type of <br />development in the area and effortstominimize infiltration and inflow that impact the <br />Glenwood pump station.
