4~ I Councim Ghambers, Eugene, Oregon. ~~ ~ 11arch 19, 1928. ~i.~';>> Minutes of the adjourned meeting of the Gammon Council held at 5;00 o'clock P.M. on March 19, 1928, there being present Mayor A L Williamson and all members of the Council except Washburne and Hendershott who were absent. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. This being the time to open bids for the purchase of $113,013.70 Series "A-G" Improvement Bonds, the following bi ds were received: Geo. H Burr, Gonrad and BrowraInc.; Freeman, Smith and Camp Co.; Ferris and Hardgrove :. Par and accrued interest with a premium of $100.02 for each $100.00 par value of bonds purchased with interest at 5t% per annum, the City to furnish an abstract and the bidder to pay for an opinion thereon. Carl E Nelson; Blyth, Witter and Co.; par and accrued interest with a premium of $100.05 for each $100.00 par value of bonds purchased with interest at 5i~ per annum, the city to furnish an abstract and the bidder to pay for an opinion thereon. Pierce, Fair and Go; Atkinson, Jones and Co.; Lumbermans Trust Co.p Par and accrued interest with no premium on each $100.00 j?ar value of bonds p~chased with interest at 5~% per annum, the City to furnish an abstract and the bidder to pay for an opinion thereon. I Said bids were referred to the Finance Committee for report and it recom- mended the bid of Geo H Burr, Conrad and Broom, Inc., Freeman Smith and Camp Co., Ferris and Hardgrove; at par and accrued interest with a premium of $100.02 and for each $100.00 par value of bonds purchased, the city to furnish an abstract and the bidder to pay for an opinion thereon, be accepted and on motion, duly carried, such recommendation was approved and the Mayor and Recorder directed to execute such bonds on behalf of the city. Considerable discussion was had a.s to whether or not the city should resur- face Blair Boulevard for those portions of ~uch Street as are not resurfaced by the ~ailway Co. in covering the Street Car tracks. It was finally decided the S tree t C ommi ttee should ge t price s req,uired to re'surface:'_all port ions of s tree ts to be resurfaoed by the Railway Co. in covering the Street Car tracks. Adjourned meeting of the Common Council held at 7;30 o'clock P.hl. on Iv1arch 26, 1928, there being present Mayor A L Williamson and all members of the Council. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. C A Hardy appeared as attorney for Wm Wells and Wm Carson and made applicatio to rent the Municipal Auto Camp at ~75.00 per month. ~he Park Board also reported on the matter of the proposed closing of the Au to Park Camp and its report was duly filed as was the Wells and Carson application. The Weilils and Carson appli- cation was referred to the Park Board. I W.B. Parker, a student of the University of Oregon, appeared and stated the students will have ~heir annual Canoe Fete on ~~y 11, and 12th, 1928 and asked that Franklin Boulevard near the Mill Race be closed to traffic all day on !viay 11 and until noon on 1fuy 12th while such entertairunent is held. The Police Committee recommended such req,uest be granted, and, nn motion, such recommendation was approved. A petition was received from the ~ugene Federation of Women's Organizations asking a license to "RodeolT shows alleged to be booked for Eugene, be denied. Said matter was referred to the Judiciary Comrni ttee. ....i
