I Meeting oalled to order by the Mayor at 7:30 0'clo01( P. M. The minutes of the meetings of April 9 and April 23 apprqved. '.ihe Eugene J:l'edaration of .aomens' OrGanizations 3.);::pec.red before the Council by Mrs. C. A. Horton as president, and by Mrs. ~arren D. Smith as Chairman of the Play Ground Committee, and aSked ~lat no more permanent investment be made in the Uunicipal Auto Camp, looking forwar'd to the time '1"hen said oump will be converted into a City Park and Play Ground and further asking that the top of the resevoir on the butte be fenced in order to reduce the hazard to children skating there. On motion such petitionw!:is granted. J. M. :fiIoore appeared befOl"e the Council and offered to sell his new slaughter-house and abittoir located IJorth of the Gity, and asking the City to take over the same for a stipulated price of ~;~4,000.00 under the terms as therein set forth. ~aid matter was referred to the Judiciary and Health Committees, at the next meeting of the Council. As per the call, bids were opened for the paving of Lawrence Street from 19th Avenue to 21st Avenue, as folloyvs: Hargreaves & Lindsay . Guy F. Pyle Stein Bros.
